The Iskut Property

The Iskut Property is owned and operated by SnipGold, a subsidiary of Seabridge Gold. It includes the former gold Johnny Mountain Mine and Bronson Slope deposit, located in northwestern British Columbia, about 110 km northwest of Stewart, BC within the Tahltan Territory.

Seabridge Gold acquired the Iskut property in 2016 because of the immense exploration potential of this vast package of land located within 40km of Seabridge Gold’s flagship KSM Project. The Iskut property consists of a contiguous block of 100 BC Mineral Claims, 2 Mineral Leases and 13 Crown Grants covering 29,436 hectares (294 km²) situated in the Liard Mining Division.

Reclamation of Former Johnny Mountain Mine

Seabridge Gold is voluntarily reclaiming the historic legacy and outstanding liabilities at the Johnny Mountain Mine (JMM) in collaboration with the Tahltan Nation to bring the site back to its original pre-mine condition. In 2022, Seabridge was recognized with the Jake McDonald Annual Mine Reclamation Award for undertaking a multi-year multi-million dollar reclaiming program.

“SnipGold has demonstrated clear and transparent intentions of addressing historic mining activities at the former Johnny Mountain Mine site, located in Tahltan Territory. We are pleased to work with them collaboratively to support and further the reclamation programs at the site by providing services through Tahltan businesses and people. We are pleased that SnipGold is addressing this historic issue and look forward to this continued relationship with SnipGold.“

- Chad Day, President of Tahltan Central Government
